7 weeks since my first treatment at home and the results are somewhat good.
I am a very critical person when it comes to buying expensive items and we all have been stung with bad buys. I don’t regret my reviews on the IPL home device thus far and have been honest and reliable in my reports.
Straight into the results…. First treatment saw nothing for the first week in regards to retarded or slower growth of the hair – possibly could even say that the hair was stimulated and grew back faster that week (which was scary). But after the weekly ‘shave’ and a few bad thoughts on the Eone, the hair has been stunted enough for the growth to be minimal and only the blonde fine hairs growing back and requiring weekly shaving, as I am a smoothness freak.
Although my results were patchy, with patches of missed hair clumps and sparse areas on 70% of the lower legs, I must say that it is working well.
I drew all the lines required with the white eyeliner pencil and even doubled up in areas with flashes but there are still bits that seem to have been missed. Overall though, it’s nice to see no regrowth!
The hairs basically die and eventually fall out, although I have a lot of little black bits still under the skin, waiting to be pushed out over time. Think of an easy-to-remove hair-thin splinter, you can slightly squeeze the skin around the leftover dead hair and it pops out – but I’ve left them there to fall out when they are ready. If I had only three hairs on each lower leg, I’d attempt to remove them, but considering I have a few thousand, I’ll let them fall out when they are ready (can’t really even see them).
My second treatment begins next week. It’s a long journey but so far so good!
P.s – I turned the machine right up to the strongest power level, drew out a patch on my ankle and zapped away – It was a little painful but I was determined to see what would happen, well…… 24hrs later, I blistered in about 1/4 of the treated area, became very itchy and infected and is still looking rather like I’ve recovered from a severe mosquito infestation in a teeny patch on my leg about 10cm x 5cm. Lets hope I didn’t cause any long-term tissue damage! But all is healing well. As my clients know, I’m the test bunny for all my research and have gone through more horrific things that this. All if the name of research and fun! One thing I can say though, there is not one hair that has grown back in that patch yet. I know if I was a hair in that teeny test area, I would have rooted up and left for good too.
Overall, stick to your lower to medium levels and work your way up slowly. It’s working!!!!
